Standing on the right of the imaam if the place is crowded for the funeral prayer

Question: 11680

Is it permissible to stand on the right of the imaam for the funeral prayer?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

If it is necessary, it is OK to stand on his right or his left, although the Sunnah is to pray behind the imaam. But if the place is crowded, it is OK.
