If you touch a dog when it is not wet, then your hand does not become impure. If you touch a dog when it is wet, this means that the hand becomes impure and must be washed seven times, one of which should be with earth.

Many scholars are of the view that purification of impurity can only be done with water. However, Abu Hanifah and Ibn Taymiyah are of the view that purifying is acceptable using any pure liquid.

Dry impurity does not pass to the one who touches it, so his garments do not become impure and neither does his body. If a person sits on dried urine, his clothes do not become impure as a result of that, and he does not have to wash them.

There is a great amount of evidence that the urine and dung of animals whose flesh may be eaten is pure. Therefore, it does not have to be washed off if it gets onto one’s clothes or body, or on the carpet, and there is nothing wrong with praying in these clothes or on this carpet.

Maniy is pure and it is not essential to wash it from your clothes, but you must do Ghusl after it is emitted. Madhiy is impure and must be washed off if it gets onto the body. Madhiy invalidates Wudu' but it does not require Ghusl. Moisture is pure and it need not be washed off, but it invalidates Wudu'.
