In Islam, conversation, whether verbally or in writing, between men and women is permissible in and of itself, but it may be a way of falling into the traps of the Satan. Whoever knows that he is somewhat weak, and is afraid that he may fall into the traps of the Shaytan, has to refrain from such conversations, in order to save himself. In any event, please see below for some conditions and guidelines.

If a female specialist doctor is available, she should examine the Muslim woman. If no such doctor is available, then a trustworthy non-Muslim female doctor can do it. If this is not possible, then a male Muslim doctor should examine the Muslim woman. If a male Muslim doctor is not available, then a non-Muslim male doctor can examine the Muslim woman.

If a man intends to marry a woman, he is permitted to look at her face and hands, even without her permission or knowledge. However, it is not permitted for him to be alone with her.
