If a non-Muslim says As-Sam ‘alaykum, you should respond by saying Wa ‘alaykum. If a non-Muslim greets you saying As-salamu ‘alaykum, the majority of scholars said that we have to return the greeting, and this is the correct view.

Honouring parents in Islam is obedience to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Obeying and honouring one's parents is a means of entering Paradise. Respecting and honouring parents brings friendship and love. Respecting and obeying parents is a way of showing gratitude to them because they are the ones who brought you into this world.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made spreading salam a part of faith. Salam sows seeds of love and friendship in the hearts of Muslims. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to return salam and made it a right and a duty.

The reason for the prohibition of sleeping on one’s belly is that it was forbidden by the Prophet who said to a man who was sleeping on his belly: “Do not lie like this, for this is how the people of Hell lie.”

Siwak is a method of cleaning the mouth which also earns the pleasure of Allah. Siwak is sunnah and recommended at all times of night and day. The scholars have differed as to whether siwak should be done with the right hand or the left hand.
