If you touch a dog when it is not wet, then your hand does not become impure. If you touch a dog when it is wet, this means that the hand becomes impure and must be washed seven times, one of which should be with earth.

The reason why it is recommended to seek refuge with Allah when entering the toilet is to seek protection with Him from the devils that frequent places where there are impurities and where ‘awrahs are uncovered.

Dry impurity does not pass to the one who touches it, so his garments do not become impure and neither does his body. If a person sits on dried urine, his clothes do not become impure as a result of that, and he does not have to wash them.

There is a great amount of evidence that the urine and dung of animals whose flesh may be eaten is pure. Therefore, it does not have to be washed off if it gets onto one’s clothes or body, or on the carpet, and there is nothing wrong with praying in these clothes or on this carpet.
