The emission of Madhiy does not require Ghusl; it only invalidates Wudu. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said concerning Madhiy: “Wudu is required for it.”

There is no suggestion that at the end of an old year or the beginning of a new year the records of deeds are closed and deeds are shown to Allah. Rather, deeds are shown to Allah twice daily, twice weekly and once yearly in Sha`ban. The texts indicate that the way of Prophet Muhammad is to do more acts of obedience at those times.

The scholars unanimously agreed that what is obligatory in Wudu is to wash each part once, although washing each part two or three times is recommended. However, persisting in washing each part only once deprives the person of more reward.

The scholars agree that fainting is one of the things that invalidate wudu, even if it is brief. Whoever faints and loses consciousness, even for a moment, has broken his wudu.

The an`am animals are camels, cattle and sheep. No zakah is due on any other animals unless they are for trade. The nisab of camels is five. The nisab for cattle is thirty. The nisab for sheep is forty.
