What is meant by ‘stepping over the people’s necks’ is that the one who does that lifts his foot above the shoulders of those who are sitting in order to pass them. Prophet Muhammad forbade stepping over people’s necks during the Friday Khutbah because that causes annoyance to those who are sitting. An exception to the prohibition on stepping over people’s necks is made for the Imam if he has no way to reach the Minbar or Mihrab except by stepping over people’s necks.

There is no specific Dhikr to be said in the two prostrations of forgetfulness (Sujud As-sahw). You can say what you say in the prostration in prayer such as (Subhan Rabbiy Al-a`la). Between the two prostrations, you can say ‘Rabbiy ighfir li’.

If you do something extra in the prayer by mistake, you should offer Sujud As-Sahw after the Salam, and if you omit something, then you should do Sujud As-Sahw before the Salam.

Sujud as-Sahw in prayer is prescribed for three reasons: 1- Doing something extra, 2- Omitting something, 3- Being uncertain. Sujud as-sawh should be done before the salam if you have omitted one of the obligatory parts or you are not sure how many rak`ahs you have done. Sujud as-sahw should be done after the salam if you have added something extra or you are not certain but one of the two choices seems more likely to be the case.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do not pray when food is ready or when you are trying to stop yourself from doing either of the two things that invalidate Wudu (i.e., urination and defecation).” So, everything that may distract a person, keep him from being properly focused in his prayer, or worry him, should be dealt with before he starts to pray.

The basic ruling on moving while praying is that it is makruh unless it is done for a reason. There is no specific number of movements that invalidates the prayer, rather it is any movement that contradicts the idea of prayer in the sense that if anyone saw this man doing that it would look as if he were not praying.

It is permissible for a Muslim to enter into a business partnership or work with a disbeliever or an evildoer. The Messenger of Allah gave Khaybar to the Jews to work the land and cultivate it, in return for which they would have half of its yield.

1. Turning away physically by turning one’s chest away from the direction of the Qiblah invalidates the prayer because facing towards the Qiblah is one of the conditions of the validity of prayer being. 2. Turning away one’s head or eyes only, while the body remains facing towards the Qiblah is disliked, unless the Muslim does it because he needs to. 3. There is another type of turning away, which is turning away whilst praying in one’s heart, through thoughts that distract a person so that he does not focus and reflect on his prayer.

The following are matters that invalidate prayer: 1- that which invalidates Wudu, 2- uncovering the `Awrah, 3- turning away from the Qiblah, 4- excessive continuous movement during the prayer, 5- omitting one of the pillars of the prayer, 6- saying the Salam before completing the prayer, 7- laughing out loud, 8- eating and drinking.
