If someone buys a car then discovers a defect in it, and it is the type of defect that could detract from its value, then he has the choice between returning it or keeping it and receiving compensation from the seller for this defect. The option to return the defective item is established, regardless of whether the seller was aware of the defect or not, and regardless of whether the purchaser examined the item or not. Once the defect is discovered, he has the option [of cancelling the deal].

1. Prophet Muhammad was economical in his use of water when purifying himself; he would not use too much of it to the extent that he would do Wudu with a Mudd of water. 2. If the Prophet needed to clean himself after relieving himself, or to remove any filth, he would do that directly with his left hand. 3. When the Prophet came out of the place where he went to relieve himself, he would rub his hand on the ground, as noted in the Hadith of Maymunah, then he would “wash his private parts. Then he rubbed his hand on the ground.”

Hunting that is done for fun and recreation only, and when the hunter has killed the prey, he leaves it without making use of it at all; this is not recommended according to some of the scholars, while others rule it prohibited. 2. Hunting birds during the breeding season and nesting season or hunting birds that have small chicks is permissible and there is nothing wrong with it even though it is better not to do that.

It is not permissible to offer payment or prizes for sports betting, whether that is offered by one of the competitors or by some other party. It is not permissible to bet on expectations, even if that is for something other than money, because that comes under the heading of speculating about the unseen, and it is not permissible to do any programming of software having to do with this betting.

If Silwana Diamond Company or any company does not meet the following conditions, then it is not permissible for you to invest in that company: 1. The field of investment must be permissible. 2. There should be no guarantee of the capital. 3. It is obligatory to agree on a percentage of the profit. 4. The company should avoid borrowing money with interest or putting its wealth in interest-bearing accounts (Riba).

1- is permissible to charge a fee for acting as a broker or middleman to the seller or the purchaser or both of them, provided that it is done in accordance with the stipulated conditions or local custom. 2- If the broker is working for one of the two parties to the transaction, it is not permissible for him to make a deal with the other party to increase or lower the price. 3- If the broker is working for one of the two parties to the deal in return for a specific fee, he does not have to inform the other party of it.

There is nothing wrong with studying futures contracts and other financial contracts and dealings even if they are prohibited, subject to two conditions: 1. that the student should have enough Islamic knowledge to be able to distinguish between contracts that are permissible and those which are prohibited, 2- he should believe that what Allah has prohibited of such contracts is prohibited.

It is not permissible for a partner or proxy to buy something from himself, except with the permission of his partner or the one who appointed him as his proxy. If your partners give you permission to do that, and they are adults of sound mind, then there is nothing wrong with it in that case.

Giving gifts is something that is encouraged, because it softens hearts and strengthens the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood. Bribery is something that is forbidden, because of what it leads to of wrongdoing and transgressing people’s rights, and reinforcing selfishness. The difference between them is clear.

The fast that is intended for its own sake includes the Ramadan fast, making up missed Ramadan fasts, fasting in fulfilment of a vow, and fasting on special days, such as the days of `Arafah and `Ashura’, and fasting on Mondays. With regard to that which is not intended for its own sake, this refers to cases where the aim is to observe a type of recommended fast, without needing to observe the fast on any particular day, such as fasting three days of every month. In that case, it is permissible to form the intention that you want to combine fasting the day of `Arafah or fasting on a Monday with fasting one of the three days of every month.
