The Quran and the Sunnah clearly indicate that sound `aqidah may be summed up as: believing in Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree, both good and bad.

There are three degrees of Islam, which are: Islam, iman and ihsan. Each of them has a meaning and certain pillars or essential parts which are explained in the detailed answer.

Islamic `Aqidah is not a theoretical and philosophical method; action is an essential part of this `Aqidah. Hence the Ahl As-Sunnah agreed that faith consists of words and deeds, or speaking with the tongue, believing in the heart and acting with the physical faculties. With regard to applying this `Aqidah in real life, this is done by learning it, propagating it, calling others to it, and refuting those who go against it with wisdom and beautiful preaching.

The Islamic system of law (Shari`ah) provides all that people need of rulings regarding all their affairs, because it is the final system of law, the perfect and complete religion.

Islam is the only religion in the sight of Allah. It is the religion that was revealed to all of the prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Islam is based on the belief in Allah, and the submission to His will.

1- Islam is the religion of all the Prophets. It appeared at the beginning of Prophethood, from the time of our father Adam, and all the messages called to Islam (submission to Allah) in terms of belief and basic rulings. 2- The believers who followed the earlier prophets were all Muslims in a general sense, and they will enter Paradise by virtue of their Islam.

The Sirat is a bridge that will be set up over Hell, over which people will pass according to their deeds. Some will pass as fast as the blink of an eye, or as fast as lightning, or as fast as the wind, or as fast as swift horses. Some will cross running, some walking, some crawling, and some will be snatched and thrown into the Fire, each according to his deeds.

Among the merits of Islam is that it enjoins good characteristics such as truthfulness, patience, deliberation, kindness, humility, modesty, keeping promises, dignity, mercy, justice, courage…

The believing woman should be content with the fact that Allah has prescribed polygamy, and she should believe that there is wisdom in it and that it serves an interest. She should not resent this ruling, even if she has a natural aversion to the presence of a co-wife who competes with her, just as men dislike fighting a war.

Our need for religion is greater than our need for any of the other necessities of life. We need to know what pleases Allah and what angers Him. We need to act in our own interests and to ward off things that will harm us.
