The creed of Ahl As-Sunnah wal Jama`ah regarding the attributes of Allah is that they affirm them and affirm the meanings indicated by the words in linguistic terms, and they leave knowledge of how the attributes are and their nature to Him, while believing that we cannot compare any of the divine Attributes to the attributes of created beings, for there is none like unto Him either in His Essence or in His attributes.

It is obligatory to believe in the names and attributes that Allah has affirmed for Himself and what His Messenger has affirmed of that, without asking how, likening Him to His creation, distorting the meaning or denying any of it.

The conditions of accepting the shahadah are: knowledge, certainty, acceptance, submission, truthfulness, sincerity, and love.

The conditions of La ilaha illa-Allah are: knowledge, certainty, submission, following, truthfulness, sincerity and love.

The conditions of worship are: 1- The worship must be in accordance with Shari`ah in its reasons. 2- The act of worship should be in accordance with Shari`ah in its type or nature. 3- The act of worship must be in accordance with Shari`ah in its amount. 4- The act of worship must be in accordance with Shari`ah in how it is done. 5- The act of worship must be in accordance with Shari`ah with regard to its timing. 6- The act of worship must be in accordance with Shari`ah with regard to the place where it is done.

Tawhid al-Rububiyyah means affirming that Allah is One and Unique in His actions, such as creation, sovereignty, controlling affairs, provision, giving life and death, sending down the rain, and so on. A person’s Tawhid is not complete unless he affirms that Allah is the Lord, Sovereign, Creator and Provider of all things.

The best 3 means to increase your faith are: 1- Learning about Allah through His names and attributes; 2- Observing the signs of Allah in the universe and the signs of Shari`ah; 3- Performing many acts of worship.

Ahl As-Sunnah unanimously agreed that faith is words and deeds, or verbal affirmation, belief in the heart and physical actions. The basis for this scholarly consensus is many texts of the Quran and Sunnah which indicate that words and deeds are part of faith.

Faith in Allah means believing firmly in His existence, Lordship and Divinity, and in His Names and Attributes. There are four things to be avoided, whoever falls into one of them has not attained true belief in the names and attributes of Allah, These four things are: Tahreef (distorting), Ta’teel (denying), Tamtheel (likening Allah to His creation), Takyeef (discussing how).
