The best fasting after Ramadan is fasting in al-Muharram. So, it is encouraged to fast a lot in the month of al-Muharram, not to fast the whole month.

There is no suggestion that at the end of an old year or the beginning of a new year the records of deeds are closed and deeds are shown to Allah. Rather, deeds are shown to Allah twice daily, twice weekly and once yearly in Sha`ban. The texts indicate that the way of Prophet Muhammad is to do more acts of obedience at those times.

The age at which parents should start to teach their children to fast is the age at which they are able to fast. Some scholars have defined this as being ten years of age.

If a person recites Al-Fatihah then blows into the water, there is nothing wrong with this. If reciting the Quran and blowing into water is done with the intention of seeking blessing from the saliva of the one who blows into it, this is undoubtedly prohibited.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has taught us things in which there is healing and a lessening of sickness such as reading al-Fatihah and making du`a.
