  • What to Look for in a Spouse in Islam

    Religious commitment is the first and foremost aim, and other characteristics such as beauty, wealth, high position and good lineage and so on are secondary matters. They are not blameworthy in and of themselves, but they are not the basic aims, rather they are complementary qualities. If they are present, then that is ideal, otherwise religious commitment is the basis of all goodness.

  • Keeping Dogs in Islam: Allowed?

    1- Keeping dogs in Islam is not permissible except for hunting or guarding livestock and crops. 2- It is permissible to keep dogs for guarding houses so long as that is outside the city and that there is no other means of guarding the house. 3- The Muslim should not imitate others by running with the dog or touching its mouth and kissing it, which causes many diseases.

  • Is Reward Multiplied For Multiple Intentions in a Single Deed?

    The reward may be multiplied if there are multiple intentions for a single deed. If the Muslim enters the mosque having done Wudu, then prays two Rak`ahs intending them as the Sunnah prayer of Fajr, the Sunnah prayer following Wudu and the Sunnah prayer of greeting the mosque, he will attain the reward of what he intended, and Allah is the bestower of great bounty.
